For the 1976 model year GM planned on building their “final” convertibles since they had become less popular in the age of air conditioning. The Cadillac Eldorado was GMs flagship and since 1976 was America’s 200th birthday, Cadillac made 200 and only 200 Bicentennial edition convertibles. These cars were available in various exterior/interior color combinations that showed off America’s colors of red and white or blue and white. This car is an authentic Bicentennial as is evidenced on the Cadillac Bicentennial registry website maintained by General Motors Originally kept by the original Cadillac dealer in upstate New York for 5 years, the car has had 3 owners since. This “land yacht” traveled from upstate New York to St Louis, MO and Minnesota on its way to spending the last 12 years in Florida and its northern heritage has created some                                                                                                                                                                                         undercarriage rust which is somewhat evident. Research indicates the 64,000 mile odometer reading is accurate. It is almost completely original and most everything works. This classic does show signs of age and wear consistent with an older car. The top is newer and the top mechanism is working fine, tires are near new and the car just floats down the road. The car has a parade boot for those special occasions and will make a fine addition to any collection or make for a fun weekend driver.
