Originally Argyle Blue over Silver, the car received a color change to Desert Bronze during its restoration eight years ago. The interior is upholstered in red Vermillion Buffalo leather, while the cloth top features a parade boot cover. Power comes from a 365ci Tri-Power V8 paired with a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, and the car is equipped with factory A/C. 815 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertibles were made in 1958 with five exterior colors: Olympic White, Rajah Silver, Gleneagles Green, Argyle Blue, and Desert Bronze. The extensive exterior trim is said to be complete, while the white Vicodec top includes a clear plastic rear window and hard-shell parade boot. A slight misalignment is present at the driver’s door latch. Chrome spears extend back from the headlights, while other contemporary design features evoke early space-age aesthetics. Originally silver, the cabin was redone in Vermillion Buffalo Leather during the restoration. Interior brightwork is as intricate as that on the exterior and appears complete. This Eldorado features working factory A/C, which the seller recently serviced. The original radio is not currently functional. The odometer shows a believed-accurate 93,500 miles. The Autronic Eye, GM’s automatic headlight dimming system, is still present behind the EZ Eye glass. Like all 1958 Eldorados, power comes from a 365ci Tri-Power V8 backed by a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. For 1958, Cadillac rated this engine at 335 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Painted underhood surfaces show a good finish, including the gold-painted valve covers and air cleaner housing. The car retains its correct oil filter and A/C compressor. The original body tag was removed for the repaint and was not re-attached during the restoration. Extensive records of the services performed during the restoration are included with the sale. A Cadillac Authenticity book, service manuals, and two specification guides also come with the car.
