This brilliant, Bill Mitchell designed Eldorado was among Detroit’s first Personal Luxury Coupés. Flagship of Cadillac’s lineup, the “E-1″Eldorado was the marque departure body style for the Eldorado (69347 ) differentiating itself from the other Cadillac body style models and the first front wheel drive offering. The instant success of the “E-1” , started with its 1967 model year introduction and extended through its Design Pinnacle in 1970. Today, the “E-1” 69347 Eldorado is considered a milestone car sought after by savvy collectors worldwide. Bill Mitchell was just 24 when General Motors design boss Harley Earl made him Cadillac chief designer. Other Bill Mitchell design team cars include the 1963 Mako Shark inspired C2 corvette body style circa 63-67.
