Up for auction 1959 Cadillac MM Limo-style Duplex hearse ambulance combination ! Who you gonna call??!
PAINT – The paint color is an off-white and looks to be mostly original with some touch-ups.
INTERIOR – The interior is a very cool black and white vinyl brocade with off white vinyl inserts. The headliner is in excellent condition with no tears and it is not falling down in any places. The drapes have the sparkle thread going through them and they are in excellent condition. I think the interior looks better in person than in some of my photos. The off-white inserts look more yellow in the photos and the glare from the sun makes the black speckled floor look like it has white-ish areas.
CHROME – Chrome is original. It’s very shiny and presentable but not perfect. It has some flaws and is peeling in some places, but I think it’s better than new chrome.
WINDSHIELD – There is a spider crack on the driver’s side of the windshield all the way to the left next to the vent window in the bottom corner. It is not in your line of sight. I have owned the car for a long time and it has never got any bigger.
BODY – Vehicle has a very solid body! The only body repair that I see on the entire car is above the passenger side fender skirt. It looks like there was a scrape in the body that was skimmed with filler. The filler is starting to crack. Also on the passenger side in front of the fender skirt the body needs a repair (Can be seen in the photos). The rocker area in front of the rear tire under the rocker molding needs to be repaired.
Vehicle has a very straight aligned front clip! Looks like it’s never been damaged or bumped. Everything lines up beautifully!
On the driver’s side in front of the rear tire it looks like someone tried to jack up the vehicle and instead of putting the jack under the frame they put the jack under the rocker instead. The rocker is pushed up and it bent the stainless rocker molding out a little bit. This allowed dirt to collect in-between the rocker and the rocker molding where dirt collected and retained moisture. This is going to need repair.
As you can see in the photos the drivers side top of hood needs to be repaired. So, there are three areas on the car that need attention: The hood and the rockers in front of both rear tires. The rest of the rust is all surface rust. The rust on the lower quarter panels is surface rust. The quarter panels are solid.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION – I have never got the vehicle running and it has been off the road since the 70s. I do not know the condition of the engine or transmission. I recently put some Marvel mystery oil down the cylinders.
BRAKES – Vehicle has drum brakes all the way around. They were taken apart and I have all the parts in a box. I know the hardware kits and brake shoes are available brand new.
OTHER – The fourth hubcap is not on the car because that rim has weights on it, but I do have a fourth hubcap. I have the trim piece that goes on the second door on the passenger side. I have always kept the car covered to keep it protected from the elements. In sta – at cadfan1959
